Humans, by nature, are data collectors. Every minute of every day we collect data and process it into meaningful information. We accomplish this by turning the things we detect with our sensory receptors into the stuff that each of us know as smell, touch, sight, sound, and taste. We do it so well that we don't even realize it!

While individually we are good at turning data into meaningful stuff, organizations frequently need help converting the data they collect into meaningful information. Why, if we are individually so skilled at collecting and processing data do we have difficulty when we work together? It may be that the individuals within the organization process or interpret data differently; it may be that the organization doesn't know how to integrate all of its data, it may be that the volume of data is overwhelming, it could be that the organization is collecting the wrong data, or it may be any combination of these possibilities. Working with organizations to improve their data stewardship is what Innovative Environmental Information Managment Services does.

If you think of the commonly used expression that individuals are the eyes and ears of an organization, it is easy to appreciate the importance of structuring the data an organization possesses in a way that it supports an organization's decision making process. Innovative Environmental Information Management Services can work with you to consolidate data that may exist in disparate formats, and will work with you to develop new data collection tools.

Our goal is to take the process at which human beings are so adept and apply it to organizational operations.
